Upgraded One of Pakistan’s Most Complex Motorway Sections
The M2 Lahore-Islamabad Motorway is a critical route connecting Punjab’s capital to the federal capital. Its Kallar Kahar section, located within the challenging terrain of the Salt Range, demanded extensive upgrades to improve safety and durability amidst harsh environmental and geological conditions.
Taajir Construction, collaborating with the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), led the project to enhance infrastructure in this 42-km section using advanced engineering techniques to address drainage, stability, and soil structure issues.
Our Process
Careful planning and precise execution enabled Taajir Construction to complete this project efficiently.
1
Initial Site Assessment
Detailed geological surveys were conducted to understand soil composition, stability, and risk factors.
2
Drainage and Water Channeling Design
Custom water channeling systems were built to manage subsurface water and prevent erosion.
3
Use of Geomembrane Layers
We implemented durable geomembranes to ensure long-term stability and reduce soil movement.
4
Traffic Flow Management
Traffic was carefully managed to minimize disruptions on this active motorway.
5
Gradient Adjustments
Adjusted road gradients and curves for improved vehicle control in the hilly terrain.
6
Collaborative Quality Control
Regular quality checks were maintained alongside FWO to ensure adherence to high standards.
